See the real fitted price before you drive in
TyreHero compares actual tyre prices across 5Auckland retailers, then adds fitting and the Tyrewise levy — so you're looking at the total you'll pay, not just the sticker.
Three steps
Enter your tyre size
Read it off the sidewall — something like 225/45R17. Not sure where to look? Our size helper shows you exactly which numbers to copy.
Compare real prices, side by side
We list every retailer that stocks your size at the price they're advertising right now. No estimates, no invented deals — if a shop doesn't carry your size, it doesn't appear.
See the fitted total, then buy direct
We add fitting, balancing and the Tyrewise levy so you can rank shops by what you'll actually pay. Buy straight from the retailer — TyreHero never takes a cut.
How we keep it honest
A price comparison is only useful if you can trust every number on it. Three rules keep ours grounded.
Real scraped prices
Every price comes straight from the retailer's own website. We track them across all the sizes we cover and refresh them regularly — you're seeing today's stickers, not a stale list.
Fitted totals, not just stickers
Fitting and balancing runs about $33–$44 a tyre in Auckland, plus the $7.65/tyre Tyrewise levy. We fold that in so a low sticker with high fitting can't hide the real cost. All-inclusive shops already bake it in — there, the sticker is the whole price.
No invented ratings
Any star ratings you see come from Google reviews, shown as-is. We never make up scores, badges or rankings — the retailer with the lowest fitted total is simply the cheapest, nothing more.
Sticker price isn't the price
The number on a tyre listing is rarely what leaves your wallet. To fit a tyre in New Zealand you also pay:
- Fitting & balancing — roughly $33–$44 per tyre, charged by the shop that mounts them.
- The Tyrewise levy — a national $7.65 per tyre that funds recycling of your old tyres.
We add both to every sticker so you compare like for like. It's why the cheapest sticker isn't always the cheapest fitted — and why an all-inclusive shop whose price already covers fitting can beat a lower advertised price.
Compare tyre pricesCommon questions
What does the fitted total include?
The advertised tyre price plus fitting & balancing (about $33–$44 per tyre across the Auckland shops we track) and the $7.65-per-tyre Tyrewise levy. Where a retailer's price is already all-inclusive, the sticker is the fitted total.
Where do TyreHero's prices come from?
Every price is scraped straight from the retailer's own website — nothing is estimated or averaged. Each comparison page shows the date its prices were last checked.
What is the Tyrewise levy?
Tyrewise is New Zealand's tyre-stewardship scheme. Retailers charge a $7.65 fee (incl. GST) on every new tyre to fund recycling of old ones, so we fold it into every fitted total.
Does TyreHero sell tyres or take a commission?
No. TyreHero is a price comparison only — you buy directly from the retailer at their advertised price, and we never take a cut or mark prices up.
Why isn't the cheapest sticker price always the cheapest overall?
Fitting charges differ from shop to shop, and some retailers include fitting in the sticker while others add it at the counter. Ranking by the fitted total shows which shop is actually cheapest once your tyres are on the car.
